Last-minute tours: what they are and when to buy
Why last-minute tours are cheaper, what the downsides are and how not to miss a good deal.

A last-minute tour is a package tour that a tour operator sells at a discount shortly before departure. Operators buy flight seats and hotel rooms in advance, and if some are still unsold close to departure, it makes more sense for them to lower the price than to fly with empty seats.
How a last-minute tour differs from a regular one
The hotel, flight and transfer are the same as in a regular tour. Only the buying conditions are different:
- you need to decide quickly, as good options go in days, sometimes in hours;
- dates and hotel choice are limited to what the operator has left;
- the price changes daily, so it is checked at the moment of booking.
Who last-minute tours suit
People with flexible holiday dates who are happy to choose between a few options. If you need fixed dates, a specific hotel, or you are travelling as a big family over the holidays, booking in advance is more reliable.
How to get a last-minute tour right
- Decide in advance how much you are ready to spend per person and which conditions are a must: board, beach line, convenient flight times.
- Look beyond the price: a cheap tour with a night flight and a long layover may cost you more in time and energy.
- Check the full price for all travellers and what it includes: flights, transfer, insurance, meals.
- Make sure a TurKod is issued for the tour.
